OFAC creates cultural experiences
that bring people together.

Purpose

To create space for people to gather, share stories, and feel connected.
We believe meaningful experiences help strengthen community life and create room for dialogue, curiosity, and care.

Mission

We design and produce cultural experiences that invite participation and foster connection.
Through storytelling, design, and public engagement, we create the space for people to come together — whether at a citywide festival or a small, site-specific gathering.

Vision

We imagine a city where creativity is part of everyday life — where cultural experiences help people feel more present, more connected, and more engaged with one another and the places they call home.

By leading with open minds and open hearts, we create space for learning, care, and exchange. We believe this openness allows communities to grow, ideas to circulate, and shared experiences to take root.

What We do

We design moments that connect story, space, and community.

Open Format Arts & Culture (OFAC) is a Vancouver-based experience design studio. We produce cultural programs that inspire, invite participation, and connect people — from city-wide festivals to intimate installations.

Our work includes the annual Design Vancouver Festival, the PechaKucha Night Vancouver speaker series, and a range of community-centered projects throughout the year. We collaborate with local partners, creatives, and institutions to develop site-specific, design-forward experiences that foster connection and cultural exchange.
We acknowledge that our events are produced on the traditional unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səlil̓wətaʔɬ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
